Ben Higham

About

I’m Ben, a website and applications developer based in Liverpool with more than 10 years experience in the IT industry.

I started my first job aged 18 at a small hardware manufacturing company carrying out manual software testing and providing customer support. After a year manual testing I moved on to writing coded tests that ran autonomously. Some of the tests I was coding were based on web pages which I became more interested in developing.

In my spare time after work I began reading about web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. I started building web applications and experimenting with web pages and servers. I discovered WordPress and started learning how it worked with themes and plugins. In 2015 I built my first website with WordPress for the church I attend.

I currently work full time as a web developer for an education institution, developing websites, maintaining the back end and solving problems.

In my spare time I still develop websites for churches and small businesses.

  • Website development using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL
  • Application development using C#
  • WordPress theme and plugin development using PHP & Javascript

I’m married to Suzannah, I’m a Christian and member of a church in Liverpool.
